Wembdon Parklands Project

The Wembdon Parklands Project was conceived by Wembdon Parklands & Community Together (PACT) who have been instrumental in sounding out local opinion, canvassing ideas, and drawing up plans. They have successfully obtained sufficient funding from external sources to make the project a reality, and work started in 2019.

The project is now being jointly managed by Wembdon Parish Council. Following comments from parishioners the plans have been further refined and are included in the overview of the project.

In 2003 the land now known as Wembdon Parklands was purchased by Beazer Homes from Sedgemoor District Council. A covenant was created which governed how the land could be used.

In 2015 Beazer Homes agreed to transfer the ownership of the land to Wembdon Parish Council without charge. The land transfer agreement added further conditions regarding the usage of the land. Therefore the Parish Council’s ownership of the Parklands is restricted by these two documents.
