Wembdon Parish Council is fully committed to following government guidance and instructions during the coronavirus pandemic.
What you need to do
Stay at home as much as possible – Somerset is now in Tier 4
- Follow government advice on the wearing of face coverings
- Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people not in your household
- Wash your hands as soon as you get home
Anyone can spread the virus.
Specific measures in place locally
- Parish Council meetings have been resumed as virtual meetings using Zoom
- The children’s playground is now open – please avoid the spread of the virus by social distancing and sanitising hands and anything else which has been in contact with the apparatus
- The park remains open for exercise, but stay 2 metres away from other people, unless they live with you
- The allotments remain open, but you should follow National Allotment Society guidance
- The Village Hall is open for some regular pre-booked activities
- St George’s Church has suspended all physical Services but is streaming a Sunday morning service on Youtube
- A Wembdon community support group has been set up, to give practical and emotional support for the elderly and vulnerable
- A number of local businesses are able to deliver food and other essential supplies to those who are self-isolating
- The free community bus service between Bridgwater and Minehead has been suspended
