Wembdon Football Club (Senior) was formed in 2005 by a group of local villagers who drank at the Cottage Inn, Wembdon. Originally playing home fixtures at Cannington Playing Fields the side competed in the Taunton and District Saturday Football League and still do today.
After several seasons at Cannington Wembdon AFC joined forces with the local cricket club sharing the ground and changing facilities at Chilton Trinity School.
During the rebuilding of the school Wembdon AFC had to relocate and found a home at Pawlett Pavilion and to this day play their football there all though they desire a return to the area and would love nothing better than to play in the village itself.
Wembdon AFC have enjoyed league and cup success in it’s short history and currently makes up Division 2 of the Taunton & District Saturday League.
