Wembdon Parish Council has agreed to support a group application to Somerset County Council’s Climate Emergency Community Fund for the SAVE Climate initiative, here is an update, and a request for help with a survey to demonstrate support for the application.

There are now ten parish and town councils confirmed in the group application, with another five considering joining at their meetings this week. Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town Council is the lead applicant in the group. Thus, the application will be in their name, and they will have sole responsibility for administering the grant (if we are successful).

We have been in touch with the County Council fund officer for this scheme who has emphasised the need to show the extent of consultation and support, and whilst we have talked and consulted with around twenty parish councils since October, we need to demonstrate more support and involvement. To provide evidence of support, and gather views to help us shape the initiative, we would be grateful if you could help by completing a short online survey. The survey was put together and hosted by Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town Council with input from the Eco-Centre. It will take around 5 minutes to complete.

But please hurry the deadline for completion is 9am Monday 11th.
